We are pleased to invite you to Küfa with subsequent screening of the Berlinale documentary film The Empty Grave.

Eisenbahnstraße 182 Innenhof
The film follows the young lawyer John Mbano from Tanzania, who is searching for the remains of his great-grandfather Songea Mbano. He was executed by the German colonial army and his remains brought to Germany. John and his wife Cesilia travel to Berlin in order to obtain the return of the remains. At the same time, the film follows the Kaaya family, who have found the remains of an ancestor in New York and are also fighting for their return.
Come along and let’s talk about it together! Researchers working on the restitution of cultural artefacts to Dagbon, Ghana will be there and will be happy to talk about their work afterwards if you are interested.
