The situation at the Polish-Belarusian border is just one example of the EU’s racist asylum policy and its intensification. Measures such as the establishment of a restricted zone along the border, the construction of physical border walls, an increase in surveillance techniques and brutal push-backs are part of the increasing militarization at the Polish-Belarusian border in the last two years. At the same time, thousands of people continue to attempt to cross the border. For more than two years, several collectives and individuals have been active on the Polish-Belarusian border to support people on the move and to oppose the racist European border regime.

At this info-event, a person who is active on the Polish-Belarusian border will report on the current situation and the solidarity structures on the ground. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to discuss support options by küfa-food and drinks. The money for the küfa will go to a small collective which is active on the Polish-Belarusian border. Bring old Smartphones and Powerbanks if you have!

Spoken language will be english, german whisper translation will be provided if needed.

The room is only accesible via steps and the toilet is not wheelchair accesible. Smoking isn’t allowed inside. There will be musik playing in the background, if it is too loud for you, please let the bar know.

Die Situation an der polnisch-belarussischen Grenze ist nur ein Beispiel für die rassistische Asylpolitik der EU und ihre Verschärfung. Maßnahmen wie die Errichtung einer Sperrzone entlang der Grenze, der Bau von physischen Grenzmauern, der Ausbau von Überwachungstechniken und brutalen Push-Backs sind dabei Teil der zunehmenden Militarisierung in den letzten zwei Jahren entlang der polnisch-belarussischen Grenze. Gleichzeitig versuchen weiterhin tausende Menschen, die Grenze zu überqueren. Seit über zwei Jahren sind mehrere Kollektive und Einzelpersonen an der Grenze aktiv, um die Menschen auf ihrer Flucht zu unterstützen und dem rassistischen europäischen Grenzregime etwas entgegenzusetzen.

Bei dieser Infoveranstaltung wird eine Person, die an der polnisch-belarussischen Grenze aktiv ist, von der aktuellen Situation und den solidarischen Strukturen vor Ort berichten. Danach wird es die Möglichkeit geben, sich bei Küfa und Getränken über Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten auszutauschen. Die Küfa-Einnahmen gehen an ein kleines Kollektiv, das an der polnisch-belarussischen Grenze aktiv ist. Wenn ihr habt, bringt gern auch alte Smartphones und Powerbanks mit!

Die Veranstaltung wird auf englisch stattfinden, es wird eine Flüsterübersetzung ins Deutsche geben.

Der Raum ist nur über Stufen erreichbar und das Klo ist nicht rollstuhlzugänglich. Drinnen wird nicht geraucht. Es wird Musik geben, falls sie euch zu laut ist, sagt an der Bar bescheid.
