WIE WIR WOLLEN

Im Jahr 2021 wurde Paragraph 218, der Abtreibungen in Deutschland unter Strafe stellt, 150 Jahre alt. Weltweit finden Angriffe auf reproduktive Rechte statt. Anlass genug, zum Safe Abortion Day 2023 WIE WIR WOLLEN zu zeigen. Der Film ist ein zeitgemäßer Beitrag zum internationalen Kampf für körperliche Selbstbestimmung. Im kollektiven filmischen Portrait kommen 50 Individuen zu Wort, die in Deutschland eine ungewollte Schwangerschaft abgebrochen haben. Persönlich, nachdenklich, gespickt mit Witzen und Momenten der Empörung, bieten diese Erzählungen ein ermutigendes Gegennarrativ zum gesellschaftlichen Tabu rund um Abtreibungen.

Nach der Filmvorführung findet eine Podiumsdiskussion rund um den Safe Abortion Day statt. Zu Gast sind Dr. med. Ulrike Neitz, Fachärztin für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe, und Claudia Gansauge, Beraterin in einer Schwangerenberatungsstelle, sowie Hannah Maneck, die ihre persönliche Erfahrung im Film teilt.

In 2021, Paragraph 218, which criminalizes abortions in Germany, turned 150 years old. Attacks on reproductive rights are taking place worldwide. Reason enough to show WIE WIR WOLLEN on Safe Abortion Day 2023. The film is a timely contribution to the international struggle for bodily self-determination. In the collective cinematic portrait, 50 individuals who have terminated an unwanted pregnancy in Germany have their say. Personal, thoughtful, peppered with jokes and moments of outrage, these narratives offer an encouraging counter-narrative to the social taboo surrounding abortions. (German with English subtitles)

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion around Safe Abortion Day. The guests will be Ulrike Neitz, MD, a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, and Claudia Gansauge, a counselor at a pregnancy counseling center, as well as Hannah Maneck, who shares her story in the film.
